DIARY 05

Hello sweethearts! I'm so sorry for the lack of updates, but a lot has happened the past month.. Some private issues. You guys don't have to worry about it though. There's some good news I have by the way. I started a new job, yayy! And I like it so far, so I'm very happy! It's not in fashion or interior.. No, I'm working as a personal support worker. Something totally different than my previous jobs and I have never worked in this field before, but I think it's a good experience! Sometimes you just have to try new things.. Right?! It can be good and instructive for sure. And for me it's a new challenge as well!

By the way.. I skipped my weekly instagram post today, because I don't have that much photos from the past week. So, next Sunday I'll post a new instagram diary (with more photos).

CARROT CAKE RECIPE

I wanted to post the carrot cake recipe last Monday (as I told you in the previous post), but I was quite busy Monday. And yesterday as well. Sorry for that! But anyway, I made two carrot cakes on Monday. One for my former colleagues at the fashion store and one for my family (see photo below). They're delicious! You definately should try it!

What you need:
1 cup oil
3 eggs
1½ cups sugar
2 cups flour
1½ teaspoons baking soda
1½ teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla
3 cups grated carrots

How you make it:

Combine sugar and oil in a mixing bowl and beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and mix. Add in all the other dry ingredients and mix again. Stir in the grated carrots. Pour into greased pan and bake it for 60 minutes in a preheated 350 F oven.

Let the cake cool and remove it from pan.

DIARY 04

I went skiing today! It was great! Had so much fun! I started skiing when I was 6 years old, but it was almost 2 years ago that I went skiing for the last time.. So I was really excited to go again! Next time I want to try snowboarding though. I wouldn't give up the skiing, but I just want to see how that is.

Yesterday was my last working day at the fashion store. I bought some stuff with my discount for the last time. I got a black, shiny bag and some simple, silver rings. I will show you some pictures of it soon! I also tried on a dress (that dress caught my eye for a long time already) and after thinking whether I should buy it or not I just decided to buy it! So tomorrow I'm going to pick up the dress and I will leave my lovely (former) colleagues with a selfmade carrotcake.. Oh god, I made a carrotcake last Wednesday and it was just so good! I will place the recipe of it with a photo (after I made it) tomorrow. You definately should try it! It tastes like a Dutch cake (kruidkoek/ontbijtkoek - that's why I like it so much haha, cause they don't sell that specific cake here). It feels weird though that I had my last working day at the store yesterday.. I really had a good time there! But life goes on.. And I will find another job!

NEW IN

So, I already told you in my previous posts I got the scarf, the black purse and the red t-shirt new in. But that's not all I got new.. Tuesday, when I was driving around town with a friend, I visited some thrift stores. Value Village is my favourite in Brandon. It's a huge thrift store, very clean and they bring in new stuff quite often. They sell clothing, accessories, household items, interior accessories, electronics, etc. Lots of different stuff. I found an amazing dark burgundy coloured blazer between lots of other blazers and I am really happy with it. It's such a sharp looking blazer and the quality of it is just great. I love it! You want to know what the price of this beauty was? Only 7 bucks (around 5 euros)! Isn't it awesome?

DIARY 03

Sorry for my belated diary post, but here it is. How are you guys doing? I was so busy last week that I didn't got the time to post anything! I worked the whole week and have hardly been home. I have some news though.. I quit my job in the fashion store where I worked the last couple of months. I did love working there, but I didn't like the hours anymore (I only worked the afternoons/evenings and the weekends). So I didn't see my family that much, cause when they were off from work, I was working. So this is my last week working at the fashion store and after that I'm done. I'm gonna search for something else with better hours. 

By the way, I bought the purse and the scarf I showed you in my previous post. I said that they were high on my wishlist, right? So I had to buy them haha! Oh and I bought an amazing item from a thrift store today.. I will post a photo on Thursday! Right now I'm off to bed.. Good night!

DIARY 02

So.. My second diary post. I haven't experienced anything special last week, so I just placed some photos of favourite items we got new in the store this month. I bought the red t-shirt yesterday (because I couldn't resist not buying it) and the other items are high on my wishlist..

BLACK & WHITE

The last post was about that new black turtleneck I got, right? I think it would look great tucked in a high waisted pair of white pants as I said in that post. It actually reminded me of my white skinnies I have! So I thought it would be nice to wear my white skinnies again (long time ago that I wore them) with something black above. You can see the result below. I really love to wear black and white! So stylish!

I haven't told you much about this week though. I was quite busy! I didn't got the job I told you earlier about, but it's not a big deal because it wasn't really my thing (administration job for one month, only temporary). So I still have my one job at a fashion store and I really love it there! But it's parttime, so that's why I was searching for something to do next to it. But it's okay. I will find something. I am also busy with something else where I'm pretty excited about, but I will tell you that later! Can't tell it yet, sorry dears! Next to that I'm also speed skating a lot, which is going great! I will start with competitions the end of this season or I will start with that the next season. I'm really excited, can't wait!
This afternoon and evening I have to work, but I will have tomorrow off (my first Sunday off in 3 months!). It's gonna be a nice, relaxing Sunday I guess. Oh by the way, at the store we got some really nice new stuff in this week. I will show you photos of it in my second diary post tomorrow, so stay tuned! Have a nice day/night honeys!
